iPlunge

For the record, this was Grant's request.  We just helped him with it...

(That little plunger is called an "iPlunge" and is meant to be an iPhone stand.)

Good Night!

Hopefully Kyle won't mind me posting pictures of him in his pajamas (though I do think the world should know that you're never too tall to wear footed pajamas), but I couldn't resist putting up this little bedtime series of my footed pajama boys getting ready for bed...

Family Photo Shoot

Kyle's sister Lauren helped us re-create an expectant family photo shoot that I saw online.  The original goal was for Kyle to hold the basketball, but Grant wasn't into that idea at all.  Nevertheless, she got some really great pictures, and here are some of our favorites from the series...

The Bouncy

With less than a month of pregnancy to go, I've turned into a bit of a lump and needed a way to let Grant burn energy while I sit comfortably and watch, thus the "bouncy" (otherwise known as an inflatable air mattress) has taken over our theater room, and the whole family is enjoying it.

Good Boy

Pretty sure this face means "But Mommy, I'm a Cowboys fan!"

Father and Son

A cute little moment on the way out of church...

Winter Gala

Grant's daycare had their "Winter Gala" today, and parents were invited to come in the afternoon and watch their children perform a series of songs they've been rehearsing over the past week or so.  We arrived during snack time.  It was amazing to see two tables filled with toddlers eating peacefully.
Then it was time for the show, but unfortunately Grant had decided to savor his cookie from snack time by slowly licking away at it, and I had to take it away, which didn't go over well.  Note how all of the children are sitting nicely in their chairs singing their song (Row your Boat) except Grant.
Look closely on the left side of this one and you'll see Grant sitting in the corner, probably crying.  He would sing while I was holding him, but since I had the camera, we don't have pictures of that.  (And since my belly is huge, I couldn't handle holding him the whole time!) Perhaps you'll get to see some video later, if you're lucky.

He finally got over the cookie and into the action when it was time for the Choo Choo Train song.

We don't let Grant take Mr. T to daycare, so he's found a substitute: Mr. B, the bunny hand puppet.  He's holding it every day when I come to pick him up.

Corn Starch Art

We were iced in on Tuesday and needed something to entertain us in the afternoon, so we got inspiration from our new book First Art: Art Experiences for Toddlers and Twos (Thanks Nana!) and did corn starch "art"...which thankfully is about the process and not the product.

Step 1: Convince Grant to touch the dry corn starch

Step 2: Add water and mix (...or just play with the measuring cups and make Mommy do the mixing...)

Step 3: Add food coloring and mix (...Grant refused to touch it at this point, but enjoyed making Kyle & I do the mixing with our fingers as demonstrated below...)

Step 4:  Arm Grant with small, plastic kitchen weapons to use as mixing/splashing tools...

Step 5:  Look at Grant's belly button.

Our Little Artist

If one is good...

Two must be better!

Shoooooes

Grant would like for you to see and appreciate the cuteness that is his cute new pair of Gruffalo Shooooes.
He couldn't stop staring at them...
If Gruffalo shoes ever need a model, then clearly we have a winner right here (so long as cheese sticks can be included in the photo shoot):

Grant goes to the gym

Grant had his first gymnastics experience this morning at Bull City Gymnastics in Durham, and he loved it.  His favorite part was this long bouncy trampoline, so most of the time he looked like a bouncing blur as shown in the picture below...
He must've done this thing 20 times during the 45 minutes we were there.
Here's his first foam pit experience (we'll pretend he enjoyed it since he looks so happy in this picture):
And afterwards, Grant and his buddies got to enjoy some video games at Tyler's.  Oh how I dread the day where we actually have to start putting money in those machines.

Happy 2011 from Grant!

Here's how Grant rang in the new year with his buddies.  He started with a sporty new look...
Played some trains & magnets...
Played some corn hole...
Did a little wagon pull...

"Played" some golf...
 Rode the Kawasaki...
 Hung out with his buddies...
 And partied with his parents...
It was a busy night!  Happy 2011!!
