Portland

After our hiking adventure, we explored the colossal Powell's Books.
 

We loved our funky modern Ace Hotel.
 

 

Waterfall Morning

Our first day in Portland, we headed out of town to see some serious waterfalls starting with Multnomah Falls:

Then off on our 5 mile waterfall hike starting with Horsetail Falls:

 

Followed by Ponytail Falls:

Portland-bound

After getting some delicious local coffee...

We hit the road and headed to Portland where we stopped at the International Rose Test Garden...

And wandered through the Portland Japanese Gardens...

Coastal Oregon Hiking

Our next day started with crepes and then some awesome hiking and incredible trees in Ecola State Park where we hiked the Clatsop Loop Trail.

We sent off some wooden postcards for the boys:

This was also an excellent eating day.  We had Kyle's favorite lunch of the trip (some sort of crab sandwich) at Ecola Seafoods and my (probably) favorite (but there were so many good ones!) dinner of the trip at Castaways.

 

Cannon Beach

Our next stop was Cannon Beach, Oregon, where we checked into our hotel and then walked down the beach to see the puffin home Haystack Rock.

Welcome to Oregon

After lunch at the awesome Nammy's Deli in Olympia, our next stop was in Oregon at the Fort George Brewery.
 

 

More Cairns

We perfected our cairn-building techniques and went rock-hopping through the stream before saying goodbye to our treehouse and heading to Oregon.
 

 

 

Trillium Treehouse

After we stuffed our faces on our Capitol Hill food tour, we headed west to Treehouse Point where we spent the night in our beautiful two-story treehouse Trillium.
