Happy Four(!!) Years to Grant! Somehow it's been four years since our first little man joined the family. We started the day off with a family breakfast at Grant's favorite restaurant (and we have no idea why), a local diner called Rick's. We celebrated the day with lots of present opening like this cute shirt from Ceci and BobBob
We decided to let the professionals have a go at cutting the boys' hair:
We had a fun facetime call with Ceci and BobBob so they could watch Grant (with a bit of help from his bro) open the rest of his presents from them:
With Grant's birthday so close to Easter this year, we did an egg hunt for one of his little Lego sets while Hayes napped.
After we caught Grant trying to pocket some magnetic tiles like the ones below at a friend's house, we decided if he thought it was such an amazing toy that he wanted to steal it, then it'd probably be a good thing for his wish list.
Last week, Grant declared he wanted to be Spiderman on his birthday (after we wouldn't let him dress up as Spiderman for a rock star party), so when the Saturday weather turned out to be amazingly nice, we invited some neighbors over for a cookout and told them costumes were welcome. Another one of Grant's requests was to eat picnic-style. This is the scene we found after Grant told our neighbor Ema, "I'll show you the moon." (It may not be totally clear in this picture, but he brought out his glowing moon and its remote control for her. Apparently four year old Grant has some moves.)
Thankfully, the neighbors helped us eat this (Grant's choices:) chocolate cake with chocolate/Oreo ice cream and crumbled Oreo topping, or I'd be joining a gym right now...

Inspired by our egg hunt at the library, we did our own little Cascaron hunt (fortunately, Walmart sells them already made, so all we had to do was hide them)
...and Grant was one very happy four year old!
